Endemism

The natural isolation of the Valdivian Ecoregion for several thousand years, produced unique species of animals and plants, which have very unique characteristics, so it hosts one of the most extraordinary and representative biodiversities of the planet.

All these characteristics make this area something very different from the steppe Patagonia of the extreme south, and it is precisely in the heart of this Patagonian jungle where our biological reserve is born: 100,000 hectares of exuberant nature that house a surprising biological diversity, glacial lakes and innumerable watercourses, with the largest number of species of ferns in continental Chile and an important number of threatened or endangered species.
