Meet members of the Mapuche tribe, the people who have inhabited these lands for centuries. This is a unique experience that offers Huilo-Huilo visitors the chance to venture into the deep cultural roots in the area. Our cultural tours will put you in touch with the culture, food, crafts and trades of those living in local villages and surrounding Mapuche communities.
Tour our own craft brewery at the Petermann Brewery, where you can learn about the production process of our tasty beer. The process is explained by the brewer themselves!
To do this tour, visitors must have their own car, preferably a 4×4. It is a drive over two hours along the Pilmaiquén Pampa, a unique ecosystem that, hundreds of years ago, was a small lake. From the Pampa, you have magnificent views of the Mocho-Choshuenco Volcano, and access to the Laguna de los Patos (Lagoon of the ducks), which is inhabited by ducks, bustards, and a variety of other aquatic birds. It is one of Huilo-Huilo’s most beautiful and diverse areas.
