The natural isolation of the Valdivian ecoregion produced unique animal and plant species on the planet. Chile’s native temperate forests constitute a world reserve of biodiversity, as they possess a fauna and flora extraordinarily rich in endemism, particularly specific monkey genera and families.

Flora

Ferns, lichens, bryophytes and mushrooms are part of the species you will find in the reserve.

Fauna

Several endemic species inhabit Huilo Huilo: From the black woodpecker to the frog of Darwin and monkey of the mount.

Our reserve is one of the few places in the world that will allow you to know and experience the temperate rainforest in all its splendor. Respecting the natural rhythm of its ecosystems will allow future generations to enjoy the wonders of the Cold Forest, a World Heritage Site.
